Theme cake ideas for kids' birthdays
Most kids already know what they want on their cake. A favourite cartoon, a favourite colour, or the thing they can’t stop talking about this year. Here are some theme cakes we’ve made, so you have a starting point.
Cars and racing
Lightning McQueen is a regular here. One was a rich chocolate truffle cake with handmade car toppers, a road and little traffic cones. Another was a two-tier cake for a fifth birthday with the whole Cars crew around it.
Unicorns and fairies
Pastel swirls, a gold or silver horn, and sleepy eyes. Our unicorn cakes are usually chocolate truffle inside. For a fairy theme, we made a cake with big butterfly wings, a little door and mushrooms around the base.
Princesses and mermaids
Princess castles, Disney princess toppers, and a blueberry mermaid cake with waves and pearls. These work well in pink, lilac or blue.
Gaming and cartoons
Sonic, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Harry Potter, Naruto, and a gamer’s room with a tiny pizza on the floor. If it’s on their screen, it can usually go on the cake.
Sports
Football fans get a pitch, a jersey number or their favourite club. Cricket fans get bats, stumps and a ball.
Tips before you order
- Send a reference photo. It doesn’t have to be exact. We’ll tell you what’s possible.
- Pick the flavour your child likes. Chocolate truffle is the most popular. Butterscotch, blueberry and Biscoff are good too.
- Give us time. Theme cakes with handmade toppers need a few days. Message us as early as you can.
Every cake is 100% eggless and baked fresh after you order. See more in our custom cakes gallery, or send your idea on WhatsApp.
